We've compiled some the best LGBT-related happenings in and around Los Angeles for the month of December. There's plenty to do, including Gay Men’s Chorus of LA’s annual holiday concert, The Trevor Project’s star-studded Trevor Live event, and the DIVAS Simply Singing! concert.

Join the women of AIDS/LifeCycle and the Los Angeles Women’s Network for the Ladies Brunch on Saturday, December 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., complete with food, drinks, games, and opportunities to learn more about AIDS/LifeCycle and the Center.

Memorial & Reception for Filmmaker JD DiSalvatore

Filmmaker. LGBT Activist, Animal Welfare Advocate, Loyal friend, Karaoke queen. JD Disalvatore was all those things, and much more. In her too-short life, she worked relentlessly to make the world a better place, raise awareness for the issues she cared about deeply, and bring the community together. 

A memorial program in the Center’s Renberg Theater will be followed by a reception in the courtyard with food, hosted bar, charity tables sponsored by her favorites causes, and in true JD fashion, karaoke.

Actor and stand-up comedian Fortune Feimster has been making quite a name for her work as a full-time performer and writer on Chelsea Lately as as Nurse Collette on The Mindy Project. She will take part in evening of hilarious stories and conversation. The free City of West Hollywood Lesbian Speakers Series event is co-sponsored by Los Angeles LGBT Center/Audre Lorde Health Program, UnCabaret and the Mazer Lesbian Archives.

27th Annual DIVAS Simply Singing!

The longest consecutive running musical AIDS benefit in the country. This year’s event will honor the drivers for Project Angel Food. Performers include Grammy and Tony award winner Jennifer Holliday will perform and Black-ish Star Jenifer Lewis will be signing her new memoir The Mother of Black Hollywood at the VIP reception.

The evening will also feature Todrick Hall (Kinky Boots) who is this year's recipient of the The DIVA Foundation's Vision Award.

Pride at Luzia: A Tribute to Art and Diversity

To mark the arrival of its production LUZIA, Cirque du Soleil is partnering with the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (LAGLCC) to celebrate Pride under the Big Top. As a salute to their embracement of Cirque du Soleil for over 30 years, members, friends and family of the local LGBTQ community are invited on December 15th at 4:30pm to be amongst the first in Southern California to discover the enchanting world of LUZIA. Pre-show and intermission celebrations will set the tone for this special performance paying tribute to art and diversity.

Join over 200 LGBT Youth & Allies for the 14th annual Tamale Jam Holiday Dinner on Sunday, December 17. Free dinner, Live DJ, Club Dance Floor, giveaways, special guests and more. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event goes until 9 p.m. It has a special Star Wars theme this year.
