We've compiled the best LGBT-related happenings in and around Los Angeles for the month of October. There's plenty to do from the annual Best in Drag Show and Gay Days at Disneyland to AIDS Walk Los Angeles and the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval.

Models of Pride
University of Southern California

Annual conference has 100+ workshops to choose from, lunch, a resource fair, a college fair, a career fair, dinner, an entertainment hour, and dance — all free! The workshops cover many areas of life that are experienced by LGBT youth transitioning to adulthood including but not limited to LGBT issues.

Exit Strategy
Davidson/Valentini Theatre

A fierce and funny new work from Ike Holter, author of the 2015 LA sensation Hit the Wall. The edge-of-your-seat drama chronicles the chaotic final days of an urban public high school. Each character is brought to life in all of their witty and sometimes surprisingly raunchy glory.

October 2 – October 15
Empowered Trans Woman Online Summit

Twenty-four prominent, outspoken trans women and 22 trans-focused professionals and allies share their hard-earned knowledge to inspire and and empower. Hosted by Cassie Brighter (pictured), a public speaker, group facilitator and coach.

Y Tu Mamá También
Academy of Motion Pictures Los Angeles

Alfonso Cuarón received his first Academy Award nomination (for Original Screenplay) for “Y Tu Mamá También,” which follows two hormone and drug-addled boys as they embark on a life-changing road trip with a 28-year-old woman, starring Gael Garcia Bernal, Diego Luna and Maribel Verdu.

Outfest LatinX Shorts Retrospective: Made in LA
West Hollywood Council Chambers

Latinx Retrospective: Made in LA is a collection of short films from the Outfest archives showcasing the queer Latinx diaspora. Movies include Nancy From Eastside Clover, Rad Queers: Payasos LA, You're Dead to Me, The Rookie and the Runner, Remember Me in Red, Star, Pura Lengua and The Baby Cries d Star, Pura Lengua and The Baby CriGol

October 5
Casino Night 2017
The Village at Ed Gould Plaza

The Los Angeles Women’s Network (LAWN) hosts its annual Casino Night benefiting the Center’s services for women and girls. 

Great games, great prizes including a two-night stay in Vegas, and of course a hosted bar. The Lesbian Culture Club's ridiculously entertaining Anna la Chocha will MC the evening. Space is limited!

October 6-8
Gay Days at Disneyland
Disneyland Resort

Gay Days is one of the most popular “unofficial” events at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. This year, drag legend Coco Peru performs and RuPaul's Drag Race superstar Alyssa Edwards and DJ Ray Rhodes are featured at the kick-off party.

DRAG Me to AIDS/LifeCycle
Micky's – West Hollywood

AIDS/LifeCycle participants ditch their spandex for dresses, and lip synch to become AIDS/LifeCycle Drag Super Stars! The Winning Team of DRAG Me to AIDS/LifeCycle will receive a $1,000.00 Cash Prize to be used for team gear. 

October 8
Best in Drag Show
Orpheum Theatre

The legendary fundraiser benefiting Aid for AIDS, a program of Alliance for Housing and Healing returns October 8th to the Orpheum Theatre.

October 13-21
Julie Brown's Homecoming Queen's Got a Musical
Cavern Club Celebrity Theatre

Homecoming Queen's Got Gun: The Musical is based on Brown's hit song and 80's music video of "Homecoming Queen's Got a Gun". The song tells the story of a High School Homecoming Queen who freaks out and goes on a killing spree.

October 13
RuPaul's Drag Race: Werq the World
The Globe Theatre

Michelle Visage hosts this Official World Tour event with performances and group productions by Alyssa Edwards, Detox, Kim Chi, Latrice Royale, Peppermint, Shangela Valenta and Violet Chachki. Get in early for best viewing spot near the stage.

October 15
AIDS Walk Los Angeles
Los Angeles City Hall

The major event supporting people living with HIV and to end AIDS in Loa Angeles and beyond will kick off on the steps of Los Angeles City Hall. Thousands are expected to walk through the streets of of Downtown Los Angeles. Funds raised benefit AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA).

AIDS/LifeCycle Open House  
The Village at Ed Gould Plaza

The Village at Ed Gould Plaza

Come learn about the bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles and how you can make a world of difference in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Learn how to access free loaner bikes for the season or discounted bikes from local bike shops.

October 26
East Los Queer Flea Market

Green's Center for Plant Based Nutrition and Gluten free Education

An indoor/outdoor queer flea market that is safe, inclusive and diverse. There will be pumpkin decorating, vegan foods and artisan crafts. All items are free of animal products.

October 26-November 5
Chico's Angels 4: Chicas Are 4 Ever
Cavern Club Celebrity Theatre

The Angels return to the basement theater of Casita Del Campo restaurant in Silver Lake for an encore run of their summer show. The hilarious comedy very loosely inspired by Charlie's Angels has the three drag heroines going after a jewel thief with the usual comedic results.

October 27
Fred & Jason's Halloweenie
Belasco Theater

It's the 12th year of ghouls, ghosts and guys and coming together for a night of costumed revelry, libations and spooky dance music. The Halloween fundraiser benefits Gay Men's Chorus of LA's programs including Alive Music Project and the It Gets Better Tour. The costume-required event features multiple bars, DJ's, dancing, celebs, photo ops, VIP areas, private cabanas and more.

October 31
West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval
Santa Monica Boulevard

from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., over a one-mile stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard/Historic Route 66 between Doheny Drive and La Cienega Boulevard. The Halloween Carnaval will feature exceptional entertainment and incredible people-watching. The event is free and open for all to enjoy.
